Hand Painted Batik – Silk

Since ancient time, silk has been one of the most expensive and exclusive fabric that reserved only for the emperors of China. Gradually silk was traded by Chinese merchant and spread to many regions of the world. Beacause of its texture and lustre, silk rapidly became a popular luxury fabric. The trade was so extensive that the major trade routes between Asia and Europe came to be known as the Silk Road.
The great reputation of silk fabric is in decline just recently. The main issue was caused by the use of synthetic silks that are often difficult to distinguish from real silk. For those who are worry about batik clothes made of synthetic silks, here in Batik Nudo we only offers our customers our high quality silk batik fabric, made using 100% silk without any synthetic material.
Our silk batik fabric was made from natural silk threads which are locally produced in Central Java region. The fabric itself comes in two patterns which is diamond and rectagular pattern. Our collection of Silk Batik Tulis is 100% handmade without usind any mahcine or stamp. Silk batik fabric is our latest addition to the collection and has gained a very positive response from our customers.
  • Do not use powder detergent (washing powder) to wash your batik tulis. It’s recommended using special soap made of Lerak, but if you cannot find it in the market, you can try to find cleaner or soap with other natural ingredients. A small amount of body soap can also be used as subtitute.
  • Do not wash batik tulis using washing machine. Hand wash only.
  • Do not dry batik tulis under direct sunlight since it may damage the color of your batik tulis. Always dry your batik in the shade.
  • Store your batik tulis clothings inside a plastic cover to prevent moths or other insects from damaging it. Do not out camphor inside the place where you store your batik tulis to avoid damaging the color.
  • When you are buying a new batik tulis, always wash it first to remove a small amount of wax that is possibly still sticking on the batik fabric.
  • Do not apply perfume directly to your batik tulis.
